Job Summary
The Salad Prep position is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role involves preparing fresh ingredients for salads and other dishes, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional meals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients for salads according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Assist in the daily setup and breakdown of the salad prep station.
Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Collaborate with cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of salad ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of dietary department requirements.

Skills

Experience in food preparation within a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred.
Knowledge of food handling practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives, to prepare ingredients efficiently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
Basic understanding of dietary needs and preferences is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
