Full Job Description

Private Chef (Full Time - Contract)

Schedule: Monday–Thursday 9:30 to 3:30 plus additional days and times on some evenings, weekends and holidays - Must live in Orange County.

We are seeking an exceptionally talented Private Chef to prepare high-quality, flavorful, health-focused meals for a small household and office setting. The ideal candidate can create food that is deeply satisfying and enjoyable while aligning with specific nutritional goals. They must have a strong understanding of nutrition, macros, and anti-inflammatory, food-as-medicine principles, including the importance of whole foods, avoiding seed oils, eliminating processed foods and added sugars, and minimizing unnecessary ingredients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals and snacks with precise macro targets (calories, protein, fats, and carbohydrates) while ensuring meals are flavorful and satiating.
Develop creative menus daily (planned the day prior) and/or weekly, balancing variety, taste, and health objectives.
Use whole, clean ingredients and thoughtful cooking methods to deliver meals that feel abundant, satisfying, and enjoyable — not restrictive or bland.
Apply food-as-medicine and anti-inflammatory principles intelligently and without sacrificing flavor.
Shop for and source fresh, high-quality ingredients; maintain streamlined inventory.
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and follow all food-safety standards.
Prepare meals exclusively for a small number of people; occasional light meal prep for later consumption.

Qualifications

Professional chef experience with a strong background in fine dining, modern California cuisine, Mediterranean, or other health-forward but highly flavorful cooking styles.
Deep understanding of macronutrients and the ability to design meals that hit precise nutritional targets while still tasting exceptional.
Knowledge of whole-food, anti-inflammatory, and clean-cooking principles—but with the creativity to make meals rich, satisfying, and crave-worthy.
Independent, reliable, and comfortable working in a private home environment.
Seeking part-time daytime hours with modest flexibility.

Ideal Candidate

Skilled at making meals that feel generous and fulfilling through smart use of herbs, spices, textures, and high-quality ingredients.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
