The Paraeducator supports student learning under the direction of a licensed teacher. This position assists with instruction, classroom management, student supervision, and the implementation of individualized supports. The Paraeducator contributes to a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth for all students.
Assist teachers in the delivery of instruction to individuals, small groups, or whole class settings.
Support implementation of lesson plans, accommodations, modifications, and targeted interventions.
Work directly with students to reinforce skills, clarify assignments, and encourage engagement.
Assist with data collection, documentation, and progress monitoring as directed.
Support classroom routines, transitions, and expectations.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policy and law (FERPA, IDEA, etc.).
Assist with student supervision in hallways, lunchroom, recess, assemblies, and other school areas.
Monitor student behavior and provide de-escalation assistance using approved strategies.
Support students with personal care needs, mobility assistance, or health-related supports (where appropriate and trained).
Use positive, culturally responsive practices to build rapport and support learner success.
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to meet student learning and behavioral goals.
Participate in required trainings and professional development.
Respect student dignity and maintain professionalism at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by building leadership.
