Position Summary
The Campus Ambassador serves as the official student representative for Five Horizons Health Services (FHHS) on their college campus. This position is responsible for promoting HIV and STI prevention initiatives, increasing awareness of sexual health resources, reducing stigma, connecting students to prevention services such as HIV testing and PrEP, and assisting with outreach events and educational programming.
Campus Ambassadors act as peer educators and liaisons between FHHS and the student body by creating meaningful relationships, promoting healthy behaviors, and encouraging students to utilize available health services. This position provides valuable leadership, public health, community engagement, and professional development experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the assigned college or university.
- Must remain enrolled throughout employment.
- Must be in good academic standing.
Experience
No prior experience is required; however, experience in any of the following is preferred:
- Student leadership
- Community service
- Peer education
- Public speaking
- Event planning
- Campus organizations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Health Promotion & Outreach
- Promote Five Horizons Health Services' mission, programs, and services throughout campus.
- Increase student awareness of HIV prevention, STI prevention, PrEP, PEP, sexual health, and available community resources.
- Educate peers using approved educational materials and evidence-based messaging.
- Reduce stigma associated with HIV, STIs, and sexual health through positive peer engagement.
Event Support
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing campus outreach events.
- Represent Five Horizons Health Services at health fairs, student organization meetings, campus activities, and awareness events.
- Assist with HIV/STI testing events and other prevention initiatives.
- Recruit students to attend educational programs and participate in campus health initiatives.
Student Engagement
- Build relationships with student organizations, residence halls, fraternities/sororities, athletics, multicultural organizations, and other campus groups.
- Encourage student participation in health education activities.
- Identify opportunities for campus collaborations and partnerships.
Marketing & Communications
- Promote upcoming events using social media, flyers, classroom announcements, and word-of-mouth marketing.
- Assist in creating engaging content that aligns with FHHS branding and messaging.
- Help distribute educational materials and prevention supplies during outreach activities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Submit activity logs and monthly reports by required deadlines.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Communicate regularly with the Assistant Director of Outreach regarding upcoming opportunities, concerns, and progress.
- Assist with additional outreach-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be currently enrolled at the assigned college or university.
- Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing.
- Successfully complete all required FHHS trainings.
- Attend mandatory meetings and campus events.
- Work approximately 5–10 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Represent Five Horizons Health Services professionally at all times.
- Meet reporting deadlines.
- Have reliable transportation for trainings or community events when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to applicants who:
- Are active in student organizations.
- Have experience with event planning.
- Have strong social media and marketing skills.
- Have experience working with diverse populations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during outreach events.
- Ability to lift and carry outreach materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel throughout campus and occasionally to community events.
- Ability to work outdoors during campus events when necessary.
Work Environment
Campus Ambassadors primarily work on college campuses in indoor and outdoor settings. Work includes classroom presentations, tabling events, student engagement activities, community outreach, and occasional travel to FHHS trainings or regional events.

- Actively engage students in HIV prevention and sexual health education.

- Foster partnerships with student organizations.
