Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care for the citizens of Central PA in a friendly environment. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and support our patients’ overall well-being. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation, in addition to pay increase in 6 months with positive attitude and performance of duties! Our office has been a beacon of Dental excellence in Mifflin County since establishing our current location in 1975. This is a well known, locally owned and respected Dental office that isn't just a dental office, but a family of staff and patients. Born and raised in this area, we know the needs and concerns of our family of patients. We aren't here to "sell" Dentistry like so many offices. Our main purpose is to care for each patient like family. Join our team, you'll not just find a dedicated work environment, you'll be gaining an "office family" while serving the wonderful people in this area!

Responsibilities

Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup effectively.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
Maintain accurate dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to safeguard patient and staff health.

Qualifications

Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation review.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient recordkeeping.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs and communicate effectively.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper handling of medical records. Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
