Employment Status: Full-Time
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week
Reports To: Director of Finance & Operations

Position Summary

Learning & Educational Solutions, Inc. (LES) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Operations, Finance & Compliance Manager to support the organization’s growing portfolio of school-based, afterschool, community-based, and youth development programs.

The Operations, Finance & Compliance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of LES’s financial operations, human resources administration, employee compliance, purchasing, recordkeeping, and organizational operations.

This position works closely with and reports directly to the Director of Finance & Operations and serves as a central administrative resource for LES leadership, program management, employees, vendors, and community partners.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced nonprofit environment with multiple programs, funding sources, employees, sites, deadlines, and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Finance & Budget Administration

 Maintain and monitor program and departmental budgets.

 Track expenditures against approved budgets and identify potential variances.

 Maintain accurate and organized accounting and financial records.

 Process invoices, payment requests, reimbursements, and supporting documentation.

 Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.

 Assist with grant and contract financial reporting.

Human Resources Administration

 Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

 Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential personnel files.

 Collect and maintain required employment documentation.

 Coordinate employee background checks, fingerprinting, references, and required clearances.

 Track employee certifications, licenses, trainings, and renewal requirements.

 Monitor completion of required professional development and mandated trainings.

Organizational Operations

 Support the Director of Finance & Operations with the day-to-day administrative operations of LES.

 Maintain centralized administrative, financial, HR, and compliance records.

 Develop and maintain internal trackers, calendars, checklists, and reporting tools.

 Coordinate administrative deadlines across programs and departments.

 Assist program leadership with operational and administrative needs.

 Support implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Required Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, Nonprofit

Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.

 Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance, operations, human resources,

compliance, nonprofit administration, or a closely related area.

 Experience with budgeting, invoice processing, payroll administration, or accounting recordkeeping.

 Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

 Strong organizational and records-management skills.

 Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.

 Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

 Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information.

 Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management.

 Strong professional judgment, integrity, accountability, and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience working for a nonprofit, educational, youth development, or community-based organization.

 Experience with New York City or New York State government-funded programs.

 Familiarity with DYCD, DOE/NYCPS, ACS, OCFS/SACC, or similar government-funded programs.

 Experience with grant and contract budget monitoring and reporting.

 Experience supporting audits, monitoring visits, or compliance reviews.

 Familiarity with nonprofit accounting practices.

 Experience with payroll, accounting, HR, or financial management software.

 Experience working in a multi-program or multi-site organization.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
