Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacist in Charge, where you will lead pharmacy operations with enthusiasm, expertise, and a commitment to exceptional patient care. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy functions, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and foster a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient safety and service excellence. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver top-tier pharmaceutical care across diverse settings, including community, LTC (Long-Term Care), and hospital environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated pharmacist ready to make a meaningful impact in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient service
Oversee medication compounding, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed in accordance with USP 797 standards
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Supervise inventory management, including medication procurement, storage, and controlled substance accountability
Oversee clinical pharmacy services such as medication therapy management, patient assessments, immunizations, pain management, and acute care interventions
Maintain accurate pharmacy records using Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and EMR systems for seamless patient care documentation
Ensure the pharmacy adheres to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in pharmacy operations

Experience

Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist in diverse settings such as community pharmacies, hospitals, or LTC facilities
Critical care experience with knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service and patient care
Experience with pharmacy residency programs or advanced clinical pharmacy training is advantageous
Hands-on experience with compounding medications including sterile preparations using aseptic techniques
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems including Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and inventory management tools
Strong understanding of drug regulation policies, healthcare compliance standards like HIPAA, USP 797 guidelines for sterile compounding, and practicing within state and federal laws
