BOOKKEEPER / CONTROLLER

Prestige Plumbing & Heating, Inc.
Location: Staten Island, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time

Prestige Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on Bookkeeper / Controller to oversee and manage all financial operations of our growing company. This is a senior-level position responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow, safeguarding company assets, and providing ownership with critical financial information necessary to make sound business decisions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting and financial management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage the company's day-to-day financial operations with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Oversee and manage all accounting and bookkeeping functions for the company
✔ Manage Accounts Payable, vendor payments, and expense controls
✔ Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
✔ Process and coordinate payroll accurately and timely
✔ Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger
✔ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
✔ Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures
✔ Monitor cash flow, budgeting, financial forecasting, and overall company financial performance
✔ Assist with tax preparation, audits, and regulatory compliance reporting
✔ Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls and accounting procedures
✔ Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
✔ Analyze financial data and provide ownership with detailed financial reports and recommendations
✔ Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, insurance providers, and government agencies as needed
✔ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy
✔ Support ownership with strategic financial planning and business decision-making

Qualifications

✔ Minimum 7+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience required (References Required)
✔ Prior Controller, Senior Bookkeeper, Accounting Manager, or equivalent financial management experience preferred
✔ Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
✔ Thorough understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, cash flow management, and accounting principles
✔ Experience processing payroll and managing financial reporting functions
✔ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
✔ High level of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
✔ Construction, Plumbing, Contracting, or Service Industry experience strongly preferred
✔ References required
