Automotive Accountant / Controller Assistant / Office Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Automotive Accountant, Controller Assistant, and Office Manager. This key role supports the dealership's financial operations, assists the Controller with accounting and reporting functions, and oversees day-to-day administrative and office management activities. The ideal candidate will have automotive dealership accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Duties

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts, schedules, and general ledger accounts.
Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Monitor cash flow and daily deposits.
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting.
Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Assist with audits and financial document preparation.

Controller Support

Provide administrative and accounting support to the Controller.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports as requested.
Monitor internal controls and assist with process improvements.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Office Management Duties

Manage daily office operations and administrative functions.
Supervise office procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Coordinate office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Assist with employee onboarding and personnel record management.
Answer and direct communications professionally.
Support management with scheduling, documentation, and special projects.
Maintain organized filing systems and business records.

Qualifications

Previous automotive dealership accounting experience preferred.
Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
