Job Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Healthy Living Coordinator supports the Healthy Living and Sports Director in the leadership, development, organization, promotion, and daily operations of Healthy Living programming.
This position plays a key role in supporting personal training, small group training, large group training, group exercise, community outreach, business development, member engagement, staff communication, and program growth. The Healthy Living Coordinator is part of the Healthy Living leadership team and will gain experience from a multi-faceted perspective while learning how to build, manage, promote, and improve programs that serve the needs of the community.

Duties
1. Assist the Healthy Living and Sports Director with the leadership, organization, communication, and daily operations of the Healthy Living department.
2. Serve as part of the Healthy Living leadership team while learning the fitness, wellness, staffing, outreach, marketing, member engagement, and operational sides of a large community facility.
3. Build and maintain a personal training clientele by providing quality coaching, accountability, education, motivation, and meaningful connection with members.
4. Lead personal training, small group training, and large group training sessions in a safe, organized, professional, and engaging manner.
5. Support group exercise programming through schedule coordination, instructor communication, class coverage, attendance tracking, member feedback, and communication regarding schedule changes or cancellations.
6. Assist with instructor support, including onboarding, scheduling, class expectations, communication, and maintaining a strong group exercise experience for members.
7. Engage with members throughout the facility to promote personal training, group exercise, small group training, member benefit classes, wellness programs, and other Healthy Living opportunities.
8. Help connect members to programs and services that support their individual health, fitness, and wellness goals.
9. Assist with new member engagement, onboarding sessions, wellness consultations, fitness assessments, InBody consultations, personal training questionnaires, and member follow up.
10. Help distribute personal training clients to trainers based on the needs, goals, preferences, and availability of the client.
11. Support business development efforts by helping build relationships with members, local businesses, schools, organizations, and community partners.
12. Assist with identifying new opportunities to grow Healthy Living programs through partnerships, outreach, events, community needs, and member feedback.
13. Represent the department through tours, community conversations, presentations, meetings, outreach opportunities, and program information sessions.
14. Use public speaking skills to promote programs, lead group conversations, communicate with members, and represent Healthy Living in a confident and professional way.
15. Support social media and marketing efforts by helping capture photos, videos, testimonials, success stories, program highlights, member wins, and community impact.
16. Be willing to put yourself out there in a positive and professional way to promote programs, celebrate impact, and showcase the value of Healthy Living.
17. Assist with staff support, including communication, onboarding, scheduling, program expectations, and creating a culture of accountability, care, teamwork, and service.
18. Step into new or challenging situations with confidence, professionalism, adaptability, and a solutions minded approach.
19. Help maintain clean, safe, organized, and welcoming program spaces, including the wellness center, studio rooms, consultation room, equipment areas, and Healthy Living spaces.
20. Bring attention to equipment needs, safety concerns, facility needs, member feedback, and program improvement opportunities.
21. Demonstrate a healthy and active lifestyle while serving as a positive example for members, staff, participants, and the community.
22. Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs, program growth, community events, and facility operations.
Qualifications
1. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid required or ability to obtain within designated time frame.
2. Personal training certification required or ability to obtain within designated time frame.
3. Group fitness, wellness, or related certification preferred.
4. Experience in fitness, wellness, personal training, group exercise, customer service, leadership, sales, or community programming preferred.
5. Ability to lead personal training, small group training, and large group training sessions.
6. Must be able to demonstrate proper use of fitness equipment and exercise technique.
7. At least 18 years of age.
8. Strong communication, public speaking, listening, and relationship building skills.
9. Passion for wellness, healthy living, fitness, and community impact.
10. Ability to connect with members, staff, volunteers, participants, and community partners.
11. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast moving environment.
12. Willingness to learn, grow, receive coaching, and develop as a leader.
13. Comfortable supporting social media, program promotion, and community outreach.
14. Experience or interest in business development, sales, outreach, presentations, or partnership building preferred.

Pay: $36,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
