Full Job Description

Summary:

Taylor Manufacturing is located in 224 Adams St., Stevenson, Alabama. Since 1983 we have taken pride in our work and employee’s. We are actively looking for a plasma operator that is a team player with a positive attitude, who will focus on quality, efficiency and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operating machine controls and setting offsets.
Studying and interpreting drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations.
Inspect completed work for quality standards and conformance requirements.
Ensure production rates are met and/or exceeded.
Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep to machine and work station.
Loading/unloading material by crane from machines.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills required.
High energy level required.
Ability to read blue prints.
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.).
Basic computer knowledge necessary.
Previous operation of CNC, Plasma and Laser Machines a plus.
Must be able to drive a forklift.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Full time shop exposure.
Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season)
Perform work standing up for 8-12 hours per day.
Be prepared to work mandatory overtime 6 or 7 days a week.
Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly and climb ladders.

Experience:

Must have experience operating Plasma. Pay will be based off of experience.
