Job Description:

The Weekend Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care, supervision, and individualized support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in Benedictine's residential group homes. Working every weekend, the Weekend DSP promotes independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and overall quality of life while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals supported.

Compensation & Schedule Highlights:

Earn $21.50 - $25.50 per hour, including a $2.50 shift differential for hours worked between Friday evening and Monday morning, plus potential house differentials.
Work just 26 hours every weekend and receive pay equivalent to 35 hours per week.

Essential Duties:

Provide direct support and supervision to individuals in accordance with their Individual Plans and personal goals.
Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, medication administration, and community participation.
Support individuals in achieving residential, employment, social, and community living goals.
Promote independence, choice, self-advocacy, and meaningful engagement in community activities.
Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, progress notes, medication records, and incident reports.
Provide transportation and accompaniment to medical appointments, community activities, and other assigned destinations.
Communicate health concerns and updates to nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Assist individuals in maintaining positive relationships with family members, friends, and community supports.
Ensure smooth communication and transitions between weekend and weekday staff.
Participate in Individual Plan meetings and contribute to goal development and implementation.
Follow agency policies, procedures, and safety protocols while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Attend required trainings and maintain certifications necessary to perform job responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Med Tech certification or eligibility to obtain Med Tech certification required.
CNA, GNA, or related caregiving experience preferred.
Must possess strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work independently.
Must be willing to work every weekend and maintain schedule flexibility to support multiple residential locations.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background checks (CJIS/Family Law Article 5-561), and CPS clearance.
If driving is required, must possess a valid driver's license in good standing and meet insurability requirements.
Must be able to perform Safety-Care physical interventions, except for approved temporary or minimal restrictions authorized by the Behavior Department.
