Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Your expertise will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support inventory management, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced distribution environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience who thrive in active roles and are committed to safety and precision.

Duties

Safely operate a variety of forklifts including reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials.
Perform order picking using barcode scanning systems and order picker machinery to fulfill shipping requirements accurately.
Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring proper storage of goods.
Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting freight for damage, and documenting transactions.
Maintain strict adherence to forklift safety protocols and OSHA standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct minor equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure optimal operation of all machinery.
Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials efficiently, stacking pallets safely, and preparing shipments for dispatch.

Skills

Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control procedures.
Familiarity with shipping & receiving protocols, heavy lifting techniques, manual handling safety standards, and OSHA regulations.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for order picking, stock counting, and documentation accuracy.
Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and warehouse supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
