Senior Behavior Analyst Opportunity: Lead and Innovate with Active Steps

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead groundbreaking initiatives in the field of ABA? Active Steps is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Behavior Analyst to play a key role in expanding our services and making a lasting impact on the community. In this leadership role, you'll work closely with our Clinical Director to establish a brand-new clinic, develop engaging social skills groups, and spearhead the Early Start Programming in collaboration with the Regional Center. Position Details:

Compensation: $87K - $92.5K annually, with monthly bonus opportunities of up to $1,800
Must have a Master's or Doctorate degree in Psychology or related field
Must have a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA) Certification
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Work Mode: Hybrid/Remote position (must reside in California); Minimal in-person work - approximately once a week or 20% of your billable hours
Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish (not required)
Travel Reimbursement: To support candidates who live outside the Garden Grove area, we offer compensation for travel time and mileage for in-person work, assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on your location. This helps ensure equitable access to the in-person requirements of the role.

Your Role:

As a Senior Behavior Analyst, you will:

Collaborate with the Clinical Director to oversee Early Start Programming and social skills group development
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and verbal behavior assessments
Design and implement individualized language, play, and skill-based curricula
Provide mentorship and supervision to BCBA candidates
Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration to develop and deliver high-quality interventions
Drive continuous improvement and quality control initiatives for clinical services

Social Skills Group Leadership:

The Senior Behavior Analyst will:

Lead and facilitate social skills groups using evidence-based ABA strategies
Conduct group-level assessments and analyze data to guide instruction and progress monitoring
Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to generalize social skills across environments
Ensure groups align with ethical standards, positive programming, and Active Steps’ hands-off approach

What We're Looking For:

Master's/Doctorate degree in Psychology or related field, with BCBA certification.
Training and certification under the Behavior Analysis Certification Program (BACB) for Applied Behavior Analysis as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Due to the nature of this role providing medical care to children in their homes, a background check is required by law. Certain convictions may disqualify candidates based on applicable state and federal regulations.
Deep understanding of ABA principles, ethical standards, and the developmental challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
Proven experience in 1:1 educational settings and the ability to manage data-driven programs.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor future BCBAs and work collaboratively with families and teams.
Experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes providing direct services to individuals with complex behavior problems.
Experience designing and leading social skills groups or other group-based behavioral interventions preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Valid, clean California driver's license and proof of auto insurance
Must have reliable transportation (due to HIPAA regulations, public transportation and ride shares do NOT qualify as a reliable form of transportation
Solid technical skills and passion for quality service
Experience with children
Organized and efficient, detail oriented and able to multi-task
Positive and professional team player
Excellent interpersonal and social skills, able to connect easily with others
Ability to supervise upcoming BCBA candidates
Requires the ability to travel to various locations to meet with families, providers, etc.
Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
