Stowe Area Association Part-time Bookkeeper

Job Overview:
Stowe Area Association (SAA) seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented professional bookkeeper for up to 20 hours per week. Join a fun and collaborative team working to share our love for Stowe with the world.

The Bookkeeper manages SAA’s accounting functions and thoroughly understands accrual-based accounting methods for a 501 (c)(6) member-based nonprofit organization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

Schedule and process vendor invoices and payments.
Owns prepaid schedule

Accounts Receivable:

Manage accounts receivable and process deposits.
Post the journal entry for revenue recognition.

General Accounting:

Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial transaction data is entered into Quickbooks.
Post journal entries for depreciation/ accumulated depreciation, amortization, and accumulated amortization.
Verifies, allocates, and posts transactions to the appropriate accounts.
Ensure smooth balance sheet reconciliations and timely monthly close for board meetings.
Ensure proper filing of taxes and accurate financial reports.

Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge and understanding of accrual-based accounting with 2-3 years experience preferred.
QuickBooks Online experience, Microsoft, and Google Suite.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
High standards of confidentiality and professional boundaries, record keeping, and follow-through.

Schedule: Flexible, up to 20 hours a week

Benefits:

401k plan: 50% employer match on employee contributions, up to 6% of pay

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25 - $30 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid
