Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Officer to safeguard our premises, assets, and personnel. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance, access control, and incident response. Your commitment to safety and security will ensure a safe space for everyone on site, fostering a sense of trust and confidence within our community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your security expertise in a fast-paced setting, making a tangible difference every day.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 4PM-12AM

Pay: $18.78/hr

Responsibilities

Monitor security cameras (CCTV) and surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
Control access points by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors to ensure authorized entry.
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential hazards or security vulnerabilities.
Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies with appropriate conflict management and first aid procedures.
Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary to address incidents or investigations.
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks for reporting purposes.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and intervening in suspicious behaviors or theft attempts.

Qualifications

Drivers license is required
CT Guard Card is required
Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems and conducting visual inspections.
Knowledge of conflict management techniques and emergency response procedures.
Ability to remain alert during long shifts while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and effective interaction with team members and the public.
Familiarity with security protocols, loss prevention strategies, and legal considerations related to security operations.
