Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Desk Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks that keep our practice running smoothly. Your energetic approach will ensure patients feel welcomed and supported from the moment they walk through the door. You will handle scheduling, insurance verification, medical records management, and coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate efficient patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while utilizing your strong organizational and communication skills.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression at the front desk.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy and efficiency.
Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Verify insurance coverage eligibility, go over out of pocket cost and collect co-payments.
Review and update patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Assist with documentation review, creating treatment plans including ADA/ CPT coding, ICD10 coding, and ensure accurate medical documentation for billing purposes.
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking accurate detailed messages.
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, reports, and correspondence.
Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, patient intake procedures, and follow-up appointments.
Conduct insurance verification processes to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries promptly and empathetically.
Ability to collaborate effectively as a team player and work closely with other team members.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a dental/medical office setting or healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and electronic health records management.
Familiarity with oral surgery coding, accepted billing practices, Medicare regulations, and documentation review processes is a must.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and appointment scheduling.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude.
