Field Operations Manager – Fence Installation

R&T Fence Company is looking for an experienced Field Operations Manager to lead and support our installation crews throughout Northeast Ohio.
This is not an office-only management position. We are looking for someone who understands field construction, enjoys working with crews, and can help make our installers safer, more productive and more consistent.
The ideal candidate will have strong fence installation knowledge along with the leadership, organization and communication skills needed to manage multiple crews.
What You’ll Do
- Provide daily leadership and support to our fence installation crews.
- Visit active jobsites to monitor quality, productivity and safety.
- Help crew leaders troubleshoot difficult installations and jobsite conditions.
- Inspect work and ensure projects meet R&T Fence installation standards.
- Train employees on proper installation techniques and company procedures.
- Coach and develop crew leaders and installers.
- Reinforce company safety policies, PPE requirements and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Identify quality, safety or performance issues and make sure they are corrected.
- Help crews plan complicated layouts, grades, gates and specialty installations.
- Review upcoming projects with our Operations Manager and crew leaders when field input is needed.
- Communicate field issues clearly with Operations, Sales and Management.
- Help develop and improve installation procedures, checklists and training materials.
- Hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful work environment.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
- Experience in fence installation or a closely related construction trade.
- Previous experience leading crews, installers or field employees.
- Strong understanding of jobsite layout, measurements, grades and construction practices.
- Ability to identify poor workmanship and explain how to correct it.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Consistent follow-through.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet and basic computer programs.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel to jobsites throughout Northeast Ohio.
Preferred Experience
- Several years of hands-on fence installation experience.
- Previous experience as a fence crew leader, foreman, superintendent or field supervisor.
- Experience installing wood, vinyl, aluminum and chain-link fence.
- Commercial and industrial fence experience.
- Gate installation experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience training and developing employees.

R&T Fence Company has served Northeast Ohio since 1988. We install residential, commercial and industrial fencing throughout the Akron and Cleveland markets.
Our work includes wood, vinyl, aluminum and chain-link fencing along with commercial gates, security fencing and specialty fence projects.
We are continuing to improve our systems, training and installation standards and are looking for the right person to help us develop the next generation of R&T Fence field leaders.
