Job Description
We are an established and fast growth construction company in Ft. Pierce Florida We are looking to add an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to our growing team. This opportunity is available for an experienced and highly-motivated candidate who learns quickly and is able to adapt to changing circumstances.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Accounts receivable - ensure & input and timely billing of invoices to customers including monitoring of late payments and initiate collections actions.
· Accounts payable – make payments preparation reports according to established payment procedures and ensure proper and timely payments of bills to suppliers and vendors.
· Prepare payroll on a weekly basis – ensure all preparations activities hours worked job cost centers, deductions are all reflected to ensure a timely & accurate payroll.
· Insurance – manage all aspects of insurance administration for the company W9 workers comp. general liability, auto insurance – communicate with customers and sub-contractors about requirements and validation.
· Notice To Owner (NTO) - Understand and execute filing procedures surrounding this process. Develop and manage a date flagging process to ensure that Tru-Steels payments and Lien rights are always protected.
· Project/Job estimates information – ensure that once jobs are approved and contract signed accurate information is reflected in project management software (File Maker) as well as Quick Books.
· New employee enrollment – read understand, update and implement employee hand book rules. Be knowledgeable about all data, documentation, forms etc. required to enroll a new employee, including setup for accurate payroll payments.
· Quick Books - this position is responsible for managing all information and input into Quick Books – including the managing chart of accounts, job costing information invoices, bills, and statements among others.
· Job Profitability - Every month an analysis report will be prepared and sent to CFO & President summarizing revenue, costs and profitability of each completed job with comparisons against the estimate.
· Coordinates with external accountant & payroll company to ensure that taxes and other filings are completed accurately and on time.
· Prepare accounting entries, review and print all financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) reports on a monthly basis and send to CFO among other reports upon request.
· Provide administrative support to the president – including filing preparation of memo’s, documents copying and other tasks that may be needed by the President.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks
· Strong knowledge in construction accounting principles including job costing, Work-in-
· progress (WIP) schedules, Percentage-of-completion accounting, AIA progress billings
· Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word
· Knowledge of Spanish a plus
· At least 3 years experience in the construction industry
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associates or Bachelors in Accounting or Business degree
Full Time / Salary: $28-$31/hour 401K Benefits, Health insurance
Pay: $58,240.00 - $64,480.00 per year
