GTC Electric is looking for an experienced, dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team in Port St. Lucie.
We are not looking for someone who simply shows up and pulls wire. We want a skilled electrician who takes pride in doing clean, professional work, can solve problems in the field, and wants to be part of a company where quality and reliability are recognized and rewarded.
Our projects include custom homes, residential service work, commercial construction, generators, EV chargers, lighting systems, panel upgrades, remodels, low-voltage systems, and other specialized electrical installations throughout Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast.

Compensation
Competitive pay: $30–$40 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, productivity, and ability to work independently.
Additional earning and advancement opportunities may include:

Top pay will be considered for candidates who can read plans, manage installations, supervise helpers, troubleshoot electrical systems, maintain strong customer relationships, and complete projects with limited supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial electrical installations in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable electrical codes
- Install panels, subpanels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, switches, receptacles, disconnects, and electrical equipment
- Complete electrical rough-in, trim-out, service upgrades, remodels, and new-construction installations
- Install and connect generators, EV chargers, HVAC circuits, pumps, motors, appliances, and specialty equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide accurate, professional solutions
- Read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment specifications
- Coordinate daily work with project managers, general contractors, homeowners, inspectors, and other trades
- Direct and train apprentices or electrical helpers when assigned
- Maintain organized materials, tools, vehicles, and job sites
- Document completed work and communicate material or scheduling needs
- Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures
- Complete work neatly, efficiently, and with attention to detail
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least four years of hands-on electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
- Ability to accurately troubleshoot electrical problems
- Experience reading electrical plans and specifications
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Florida installation requirements
- Experience leading helpers or small crews
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Strong attendance, reliability, and time-management habits
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
- Personal hand tools required for the position
- Ability to safely lift materials, climb ladders, work in attics, and perform normal construction-related physical duties
- Authorization to work legally in the United States
A journeyman certification or electrical license is strongly preferred, but substantial documented field experience will also be considered.

- Pool, well-pump, and water-treatment equipment
- Running projects and supervising electrical helpers

Schedule and Location
- Full-time position
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday
- Overtime, early starts, nights, or occasional weekend work may be available or required depending on project schedules
- Work is primarily located in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Fort Pierce, Palm Beach County, and surrounding Treasure Coast communities
