CareerSource Research Coast currently has an opening for a Career Planner in our new remote center located in Martin County office in Stuart, FL. A programmatic position providing career-planning services to CareerSource Research Coast (CSRC) career seekers. The primary emphasis will be on tailoring CSRC career services and other community resources to each career seeker based on their individual needs. The Career Planner will maintain a participant caseload and work with the participants through successful placement in self-sufficient employment with job retention tracked for at least one year.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position. * Hours of operation and schedule for position is:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday of each week – 8am to 5pm
Tuesday of each week – 10am to 7pm
Friday of each week – 8am to noon
Every other Saturday – 8am to noon
Career Planner must have:

PRIMARY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct initial assessments to determine career seekers’ job readiness and the career services, support and/or training needed.
2. Maintain updated information about area resources. Disseminate information to career seekers, as appropriate. Based on initial assessment results, provide referrals for career seekers to other partner and community-based organizations to assist with barrier elimination in order to gain self- sufficient employment.
3. Listens and exercises good judgment in directing clients and customers access to services.
4. Provide overview of area labor market information (LMI), relevant CareerSource Research Coast (CSRC) programs, services and resources to include information regarding eligibility requirements, and program expectations. This may be provided one-on-one to career seekers in the resource room or in a group setting as requested by the Center Manager.
5. Assist career seekers who are in need of additional program services and/or who are deemed job ready, to include assistance in resume preparation, job search assistance, skills testing, etc.
6. Document all interaction with career seekers by entering proper service codes and case notes in the Employ Florida management information system timely and correctly.
7. Perform intake (pre-screening) and review assessment data of participants to determine appropriateness for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program.
8. Follows CSRC procedures and guidelines when determining the need, suitability for training and enrolling participants who are appropriate for On-the-Job Training (OJT), Internship, Occupational Skills Training, or Employed Worker Training (EWT) in accordance with program requirements.
9. Follows CSRC procedures and guidelines when enrolling participants in WIOA for basic or individualized services in accordance with identified needs of the participant which lead to self- sufficient employment.
10. Using information obtained during orientation, intake, assessments, workshops and one-on-one meetings, discuss with participant their strengths, barriers, and assessment scores. With the participant, determine the best and most appropriate course of action and services, developing an Individual Employment Plan to guide participant toward career goals.
11. Issue Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) to participants and enter into the Gazelle tracking system, monitor attendance and grades, and ensure documentation is maintained in the file.
12. Complete all required data entry correctly and timely into the tracking systems to include Employ Florida and Gazelle.
13. Provide guidance and counseling to the participant and serve as a mentor.
14. Conduct monthly (at a minimum) contacts with participants and document in Employ Florida.
15. Track participant enrollment goals to ensure compliance with established goals.
16. Track participant activity projected end dates to avoid management information system closures.
17. Track performance outcomes for participants.
18. Conduct follow-up services on participants who exit from the program due to employment.

19. Participate in continued training to remain knowledgeable in all areas of policy, procedures, and regulations.
20. Conduct participant file monitoring utilizing Florida Commerce (FC) WIOA Program Monitoring tool to ensure that all appropriate and required data is maintained in the file.
21. Scan participant files into CSRC’s electronic filing system on a continuous basis as new participants are enrolled and scan ongoing documentation into the existing participant files.
22. May conduct orientation and other workshops.
23. Assist or develop outcome measures to evaluate achievement for participant’s goals.
24. Participate in networking events, job fairs, workshops introducing CSRC programs and services.
25.Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

7. Knowledge of community partners and other community resources.
8. Organizational and time management skills.
9. Knowledge of CSRC programs and database systems – Employ Florida.
10. Knowledge of local training providers and CSRC partners and programs.
11. Knowledge of local labor market.
12. Vocational counseling experience preferred.
13. Required to obtain Workforce Development Professional-Tier 1 certification within first 6 months of employment, if not already certified.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Counseling, Human Services or a related field and minimum of one (1) year case management experience preferred OR
2. Associates Degree in Counseling, Human Services or a related field and three (3) years related experience preferred OR
3. Five (5) years’ equivalent combination of related experience and/or education preferred.
