Accounts Payable Coordinator

Full-Time Office Position Located in City Center, Newport News Va.

Asheville Mica Company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This role is integral in supporting our accounts payable operations, enhancing vendor relations, and streamlining our payables processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts payable, strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and improve processes while working collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first contact for all incoming calls and visitors.
Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries related to invoices and payments.
Process accounts payable invoices and expense reimbursements.
Verify invoice accuracy, coding, and required approvals.
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
Maintain accurate vendor files and records.
Assist with 1099 reporting and vendor compliance documentation.
Process disbursement and prepayments withing the ERP system.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Support month-end close activities related to accounts payable.
Assist in continuous improvement of accounts payable processes.
Provide support for internal department inquiries related to vendor payments.
Coordinate with other departments and teams.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

3–5+ years of experience in an accounts payable role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Sharepoint, Outlook, Excel and Word.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the manufacturing industry.
Experience with NetSuite ERP.
Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-subsidiary accounting environments.
