Our Head Start/Early Head Start program is federally funded and provides no-cost services to qualifying families, including pregnant women, children from birth to age 5, and their families through comprehensive education, health, and family support services.
Position Summary for Information Technology Manager
The Children’s Center is seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager to oversee and direct the agency’s technology operations. This role is responsible for managing IT systems, providing technical support, ensuring network and data security, and supervising IT staff while supporting the agency’s overall operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities for Information Technology Manager

Manage and oversee agency-wide information technology operations

Coordinate system development, testing, documentation, and technical support

Troubleshoot user issues, identify solutions, and implement fixes

Install, maintain, and administer servers, workstations, routers, switches, wireless access points, and printers
-
Manage VPN, DNS certificates, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email security protocols
-
Oversee PBX and VoIP telecommunications systems
-
Maintain agency security systems, surveillance cameras, and network security
-
Verify daily server backups and restore files as needed
-
Serve as system administrator for software packages and databases
-
Coordinate technology projects, upgrades, and replacements across all sites

Develop and conduct staff technology training programs
-
Assist with IT budgeting and administration of approved funds
-
Run reports and facilitate IT security audits/investigations
-
Support directors with grant submissions and special projects
-
Attend meetings and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications for Information Technology Manager
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required
-
Must have direct experience with the supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration to be considered
-
Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, including a proven track record of success in supervisory or leadership roles

The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of experience leading IT teams and overseeing technical workflows.

Budget development and financial accountability experience
-
Expertise in overseeing IT operations, including lifecycle management, resource allocation, and technical service delivery.

Deep understanding of IT governance frameworks and a proven ability to implement industry-standard management practices.

Demonstrated ability to apply IT management best practices to streamline workflows and improve departmental efficiency.

At least six (6) years of progressive experience in the Information Technology field; prior experience navigating the unique needs of an educational environment or non-profit is highly desirable.

At least three (3) years of experience providing direct supervision of staff

Experience with overseeing multiple sites at one time

May be called upon to work beyond normal working hours

Travel to school locations, community locations, and meetings required

Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Must be able to sit and work at a computer keyboard and desk

Oral and written fluency in English required, additional language skills always welcome

Effectively reading, hearing, and speaking are required

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
