NEUMAN & ESSER-STASSKOL USA-Katy, TX is seeking for a Quality Control Associate to Support the Quality Control Technicians and Quality Department in performing routine quality inspections of in-house manufactured and vendor-supplied compressor parts. Assist with inspection documentation, material traceability, inspection equipment, shop floor quality activities, and general organization of the quality inspection area. The Quality Control Associate will work under the guidance of the Quality Control Technicians and progressively develop knowledge and skills in manufacturing inspection, precision measurement, engineering drawings, and quality requirements.
DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Quality Control Associate is expected to progressively develop technical inspection skills through hands-on training and experience. Development may include:
- Advanced use of precision measuring equipment.
- Interpretation of detailed engineering drawings.
- Application of GD&T.
- CMM inspection techniques.
- Understanding of applicable manufacturing and quality standards.
- Non-conformance identification and documentation.
- Quality system procedures and ISO requirements.
- Inspection planning and documentation.
- Root cause and corrective action processes.
QUALIFICIATIONS/HARDWARE/SOFTWARE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing, machining, inspection, or related technical experience preferred. Relevant technical education or hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of manufacturing experience.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to learn Company quality systems and software.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, or SharePoint is helpful but not required.
EXPERIENCE AND EXPECTATIONS
- Ability or willingness to learn how to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
- Basic understanding of dimensional measurement and inspection principles.
- Basic understanding of tolerances; knowledge of GD&T is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or machining environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with BS, DIN, EN, or ISO standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with nondestructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
- Technical knowledge or experience with reciprocating compressors is a plus.
- Ability to accurately record measurements and maintain organized documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new inspection methods, equipment, and processes.
- Demonstrates accountability and willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.
- Ability to work effectively with the Quality Control Technician, manufacturing personnel, and other departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with incoming, in-process, visual, and final inspections of new and repaired components.
- Apply permanent markings to finished parts.
- Perform routine dimensional inspections using handheld measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Assist with CMM inspections and measurements under the direction of the Quality Control Technician.
- Read and follow basic manufacturing drawings, specifications, inspection instructions, and work instructions.
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain required quality documentation.
- Assist with maintaining accurate inspection and quality records in accordance with Company procedures and standards.
- Assist in identifying and processing non-conforming parts in accordance with company procedures and standards.
- Assist with verifying material certifications, inspection reports, and traceability documentation.
- Help maintain the organization, cleanliness, and integrity of the inspection area.
- Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working conditions and report damaged, missing, or potentially out-of-calibration equipment to the Quality Control Technician.
- Help prepare parts, drawings, tools, and documentation required for inspections.
- Support team with repair projects and other quality-related activities.
- Assist shop floor personnel with routine quality and inspection requirements and escalate technical questions to the Technical Manager.
- Assist with maintaining and improving inspection procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review inspection documentation for completeness and bring discrepancies to the attention of the Quality Control Technician.
- Develop proficiency in the proper use and care of precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Participate in training to develop knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, inspection techniques, and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the shop.
- Interface professionally with manufacturing, repair, logistics, procurement, and other departments as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $17-$20 per hour
