About the job

Riverbend Country Club is one of the premier private clubs in the Houston area, offering an exceptional golf, dining, racquet, aquatics, and social experience to a vibrant and engaged membership.

As part of our continued commitment to providing an outstanding member experience, Riverbend recently completed a $2 million renovation of our clubhouse, creating beautifully enhanced dining and gathering spaces that position the Club for continued growth and elevated service. We are seeking an experienced hospitality professional who is excited to build upon this investment and lead our food and beverage operation into its next chapter.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Food & Beverage is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for all food and beverage operations throughout the Club. This position is highly visible and plays a critical role in shaping the member experience through exceptional hospitality, strong leadership, financial stewardship, and operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Director of Food & Beverage provides strategic leadership and daily oversight of all dining, bar, banquet, and beverage operations. The successful candidate will foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while developing managers and service staff to consistently exceed member expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead all food and beverage operations, including a la carte dining, bars, banquet and private events, pool food service, and golf-related food and beverage outlets.
Deliver exceptional member experiences through visible leadership and consistent service standards.
Recruit, hire, mentor, and develop managers and front-of-house team members.
Partner closely with the Executive Chef to deliver outstanding culinary and service experiences.
Develop annual operating budgets and manage labor, food, and beverage costs to achieve financial objectives.
Analyze operating results and implement strategies that improve efficiency, profitability, and member satisfaction.
Ensure proper purchasing, inventory control, beverage management, and cost controls.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
Work closely with Director of Events to execute member events, tournaments, weddings, holiday celebrations, and other special functions.
Build positive working relationships with all departments while supporting the Club's mission and culture.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a relationship-driven hospitality leader who enjoys engaging with members, coaching teams, and creating memorable experiences.

Preferred qualifications include:

Five to ten years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience.
Previous experience as a Director or Assistant Director of Food & Beverage in a private club, luxury hotel, resort, or high-end hospitality environment.
Demonstrated success leading multiple dining outlets and banquet operations.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost control.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
Passion for mentoring employees and developing future leaders.
Knowledge of wine, beverage programs, and elevated service standards.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
