What You’ll Do
As our Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of your territory and drive sales growth through face-to-face relationship building, project site visits, and proactive communication. You’ll work with a diverse mix of customers — homeowners, builders, masons, architects, and designers — while ensuring every order and interaction reflects our standard of excellence.
Job Duties
- Weekly job site and/or office visits for active and potential projects.
- Actively manage and grow a comprehensive list of home builders, masons, architects, and designers to target.
- Conduct monthly sales presentations by physical visits to customer locations.
- Conduct regular accredited and unaccredited architectural ‘Lunch & Learn’ presentations.
- Be able to emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
- Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold calling if necessary.
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
- Use applicable CRM software to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
- Make front-line assessment of market conditions and advise company of findings.
- Understand the competitive landscape to help shape our pricing strategy.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of new products, competitor activities, and other research.
- Advocate in the best interest of K2 Stone and constantly be learning products & industry standards.
- Regularly attend tradeshows, golf tournaments, local building association functions and other marketing events.
- Create a sales pipeline to plan supplier purchases and optimize company and branch cash flow.
- Maintain accurate records including sales call reports, quote pipeline, expense forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with the Inside Sales Rep to accurately manage all incoming orders and products.
- Coordinate with the Inside Sales Rep to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all outgoing orders and products. Assist when needed.
- Timely and efficient communication with production and support department colleagues.
- Create accurate and timely custom order quotes.
- Manage customer expectations through accurate lead times, product knowledge, and timely follow-up.
- Inspect all custom orders upon delivery to ensure accurate dimensions, finishes, and quality control.
- Assist with order fulfillment when needed.
- Share and assist walk-in and call-in responsibilities with Inside Sales rep.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of successful outside sales experience.
- Architectural, building products, construction, or related industry experience preferred.
- Proven ability to generate new business and consistently achieve sales targets.
- Strong territory management, account development, and pipeline management skills.
- Experience managing opportunities involving multiple decision-makers.
- Exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and objection-handling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using CRM software and sales tracking tools.
- Professional, polished, and customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid passport with the ability to travel to Canada as required.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Comfortable performing basic business calculations and sales analysis.
