Full Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Lead holds primary leadership responsibility for the overall delivery and integrity of clinical services at Arizona Rehab Campus - Phoenix. This position ensures adherence to all licensing, ethical, and professional standards while cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth. The Clinical Lead oversees the IOP program, ensures compliance with medical necessity, leads training initiatives, and provides strategic direction in consultation with Executive Leadership. All clinical decisions and programmatic changes must be approved by Executive Leadership prior to implementation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Facilitation of evidenced-based group therapy that focuses on substance abuse related issues and trauma symptomology.

● Providing individual sessions, as requested, using evidence-based modalities and a range of therapeutic techniques to support individualized care.

● Completion of clinical documentation, including but not limited to, progress notes, group notes, individual session notes, discharge summaries, insurance concurrent reviews, Columbia Suicide Risk Assessment, Beck Anxiety & Depression Inventory, and additional assessments as needed.

● Collaborating with assigned treatment team for ART, RACI, and staffing meetings

● Completing daily safety checks for clients scoring moderate risk on Columbia Suicide Screening.

● Providing intervention and mediation services to support clients to redirect program engagement.

● Providing therapeutic support to clients in IOP.

● Completing assessment of symptomology for clients needing a higher level of care.

● Attending Clinical meetings for staffing and professional growth.

● Accommodating cultural/special needs for clients.

● Completing Treatment Plan Reviews as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education

· Master’s degree in a relevant clinical field such as:

· Social Work (MSW), Counseling, Psychology, Related behavioral health discipline

Licensure

· Independent or Associate clinical license required, such as:

· Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

· Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

· Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

· Good standing with state board (AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners)

· Ability to provide clinical supervision toward licensure may be required or preferred.

Experience

· 5 years’ Clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment

· At least 2 years’ Supervisory or leadership experience — e.g., experience supervising clinicians, leading teams, or providing clinical direction.

Clinical Skills & Knowledge

· Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care)

· Ability to provide clinical consultation, fidelity monitoring, and quality assurance

· Familiarity with ASAM Criteria, DSM-V, clinical documentation standards

· Proficient with EMR systems and standard clinical reporting

Leadership & Communication

· Ability to train and support clinical teams

· Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

· Leadership style that fosters teamwork, accountability, and positive outcomes.

Other Preferred/Required Items

· Valid driver’s license (for some roles)

· Knowledge of state and federal behavioral health regulations

· Understanding of quality metrics, compliance, and clinical operations
(Specific to behavioral health/rehab programs.)

· CPR/FA Certification – to be obtained within first 90 days

· Fingerprint Clearance Card – to be obtained within first 90 days

· Handle with Care – to be obtained within first 90 days

· Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background check

· Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

· Successful clearance of TB PPD testing upon hire and annual screening of TB symptoms

· Attending clinical oversight with BHP once every 2 weeks worked for a minimum of 2 sessions per month.
