Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Lead HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HVAC/R systems with strong expertise in commercial and large-tonnage air conditioning equipment such as cooling towers, chilled water systems, pumps, centrifugal compressors, and rooftop units. This role requires strong mechanical ability and proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics. The Senior Lead HVAC Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while supporting the team and ensuring optimal system performance.

Responsibilities

Lead and train a team of technicians to perform retrofit and refurbishment projects across the state of Florida.
Serve as the subject matter expert supporting the sales team with product presentations and technical proposals.
Assist service crews with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems including packaged rooftop units, air handling units, air-cooled equipment, cooling towers, and associated HVAC components.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance while minimizing customer downtime.
Diagnose issues and execute repairs across a wide range of HVAC/R applications.
Apply mechanical expertise to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
Read and interpret electrical schematics to understand system layout and functionality.
Solder, weld, and braze components as needed for repairs or installations.
Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication and professional support.
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory documentation within the field service database.

Requirements

Strong and advanced experience as an HVAC Technician or equivalent role in the HVAC/R industry.
Proven Leadership and conflict management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigeration practices, and commercial repair techniques.
Excellent mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
In-depth experience with advanced HVAC equipment, heavy repairs, and diagnostic procedures.
Commitment to a safety-driven work environment.
Ability to read and interpret HVAC schematics and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage direct reports, interact with clients, and collaborate with team members.
Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record; travel between job sites is required and may involve overnight stays.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Certifications in related fields such as Mechanical Contractor, General Contractor, or Plumbing, quality assurance, six sigma are highly preferred.
Minimum ten to fifteen years of experience in commercial HVAC/R.
Strong knowledge of HVAC fundamentals for commercial or heavy industrial applications.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
