CableSouth Construction LLC | Minnesota | Full-Time
Build Fiber Infrastructure. Lead From the Front.
CableSouth Construction LLC is looking for an experienced Fiber Construction Project Manager / Construction Manager to lead a major fiber infrastructure project in Minnesota.
This is not a desk-only project management position. We need someone who understands OSP fiber construction in the field — someone who can manage crews and subcontractors, drive production, solve problems quickly, and keep a project moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
If you've successfully managed OSP fiber builds, underground construction, aerial construction, directional drilling, or telecom infrastructure projects, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Own:
- Lead day-to-day construction activities for an active OSP fiber deployment
- Manage field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project resources
- Drive production schedules and ensure project milestones are hit
- Coordinate underground and aerial fiber construction
- Oversee directional drilling, trenching, boring, conduit placement, fiber placement, handholes, vaults, and related OSP activities
- Monitor crew productivity and proactively address delays or bottlenecks
- Coordinate materials, equipment, permitting, locates, and field requirements
- Perform regular site visits and construction quality inspections
- Ensure work meets customer specifications, engineering plans, and quality standards
- Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance
- Track project progress, production, costs, change orders, and documentation
- Communicate project status with leadership, customers, inspectors, municipalities, and other stakeholders
- Identify problems before they become expensive problems and drive them through resolution
- Support project closeout, punch lists, as-builts, and final documentation
Who We're Looking For:
Strong candidates will have:
- 3+ years of experience managing fiber, telecom, utility, or OSP construction projects
- Hands-on knowledge of OSP fiber construction
- Experience managing field crews and/or subcontractors
- Understanding of underground construction, directional boring/drilling, trenching, conduit, and fiber placement
- Ability to read construction prints, maps, engineering drawings, and project documentation
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling and production management
- Excellent leadership and field communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple crews, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in the field
- Working knowledge of construction safety requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the project area
Experience That Will Put You at the Top of the List
- Large-scale FTTH / FTTx fiber deployment experience
- OSP construction management experience
- Directional drilling / HDD experience
- Aerial fiber construction experience
- Experience working with telecom carriers, ISPs, municipalities, or utility companies
- Experience managing multiple subcontractor crews simultaneously
- Experience managing projects from construction kickoff through final closeout
- Proven track record of hitting aggressive production schedules without sacrificing safety or quality
