Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive House Manager to support the daily operations of a busy private household in the Phoenix area. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented individual capable of managing household administration, childcare, child-related scheduling and education coordination, vendor management, personal assisting, and overall home organization. The family has three children, currently ages 11 to 16, attending in-person school, and a core part of this role is keeping the household running while ensuring the children stay organized, supported, and on track academically throughout the school year.

Structure and accountability are central to this position. The children are expected to complete chores, routines, and other daily tasks assigned by their parents, and this role is responsible for establishing that structure, tracking follow-through, and consistently holding the children accountable to it — ensuring the expectations set by the parents are actually met each day, not simply reminded about.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, discreet, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining structure, consistency, and a well-run household environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day household operations to ensure organization, cleanliness, and efficiency
Perform daily cleaning and tidying of the home, including laundry, dishes, mopping, vacuuming, and garage organization in conjunction with scheduling weekly house cleanings.
Prepare and cook daily meals according to family preferences and dietary needs
Manage household bills, budgeting, expense tracking, and account organization
Coordinate and maintain relationships with household vendors and service providers (landscaping, maintenance, repairs, etc.)
Schedule and oversee home maintenance, repairs, and service appointments
Maintain household inventories, including groceries and supplies, ensuring the home remains fully stocked and waste is minimized
Develop and maintain household systems, trackers, and processes (bills, schedules, inventories, contacts)
Manage family calendars including household, educational, medical, and personal appointments
Supervise and care for the children, including after-school routines, activities, and transitions
Coordinate with school teachers and educational providers to ensure all three children remain on track academically
Monitor coursework, assignments, and academic progress; provide organizational, homework, and tutoring support as needed to maintain a minimum B average in all subjects
Establish structured daily routines that balance learning, activities, and breaks
Establish, maintain, and enforce a chore and responsibility system for all three children, covering daily chores, routines, and other tasks assigned by the parents
Hold the children accountable through consistent daily follow-through — verifying completion, addressing missed tasks, and reporting patterns to the parents
Build age-appropriate structure across the 11-to-16 range, adjusting supervision and independence to each child
Provide transportation for children to school, appointments, activities, and other commitments as required
Track medical appointments, medications, and related records for family members when applicable
Provide personal assistant support to the principals, taking on personal tasks and administrative workload
Support errands, deliveries, guest coordination, family events, and general household logistics
Travel with the family as needed, providing full household, childcare, and personal support while away
Coordinate closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure alignment across household, family, and business priorities
Proactively identify recurring issues in household operations and bring forward solutions
Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion in all aspects of the role

Schedule & Availability

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Open availability is required, with near on-call flexibility after hours, on weekends, and during family travel
Must be willing to travel with the family domestically as the family’s schedule requires
Scheduling adjustments will be communicated in advance whenever reasonably possible
This is a significant commitment and will at times require flexibility with personal time — we ask that candidates be fully clear about their availability before applying

Compensation & Benefits

$100,000 – $115,000 annually, depending on experience
The specific compensation structure and pay schedule will be discussed during the interview process
Bonus pay opportunities based on performance and role execution
Full-time, W-2 employee position
Formal performance review at six (6) months
Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Paid sick leave in accordance with Arizona law and household policy
Accrued PTO after 90 days of employment
All travel expenses, lodging, and meals covered while traveling with the family
Health insurance and retirement plans are not currently offered with this position

Requirements

Proven experience in household management, family assistant, personal assistant, private service, childcare, or related roles
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience coordinating vendors, managing schedules, and handling household administration
Comfort working with children and supporting education-related coordination, tutoring, and routines
Demonstrated ability to set structure and enforce accountability with children, including pre-teens and teenagers, in a firm but positive manner
Comfort supporting a wider age range (11 to 16), adapting supervision and expectations to each child
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both adults and children
Ability to proactively create systems, processes, and organizational workflows
High level of reliability, professionalism, and discretion
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Reliable personal vehicle required for job-related driving, along with a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance — a household vehicle is not provided
Must pass a comprehensive background check, reference verification, and drug screening; signing a confidentiality agreement (NDA) is required

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
