The Director of Education and Child Enrichment is responsible for leading all educational programming, early learning operations, and child enrichment services within Phoenix. This leadership role ensures high-quality instruction, regulatory compliance, staff development, and alignment of Early Childhood Education (ECE) with Phoenix’s broader workforce and trades-based model.

1. Site Leadership & Daily Operations

Oversee daytoday center operations, staff schedules, and program flow

Act as the primary contact for escalated operational issues, incidents, and family concerns

Coordinate daily priorities across all childcare and enrichment activities
-
Lead all licensed early learning, childcare, and enrichment programs
-
Ensure compliance with DELC, ERDC, and state licensing requirements
-
Maintain continuous readiness for monitoring, licensing visits, and audits
-
Align classroom practices with developmentally appropriate standards

2. Staff Supervision, Evaluation & Development

Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to all program staff

Conduct employee evaluations in partnership with HR

Support ongoing professional development, credentialing, and career advancement pathways

Ensure staffing meets ratio, licensing, and quality criteria

3. Compliance, Licensing & Risk Management

Maintain readiness for inspections, monitoring visits, and state audits

Oversee incident reporting, corrective action plans, and required documentation

Coordinate compliance with the Executive Director and Facilities Director

Ensure staff adherence to safety, supervision, and mandatory reporting policies

4. Budget Oversight & Resource Management

Manage the center’s operating budget

Identify operational risks, resource gaps, and opportunities for improvement

5. Cross-Program Coordination

Align center operations with organizational systems, processes, and policies

Participate in leadership planning, strategic development, and continuous improvement efforts

6. Communication & Reporting

Provide regular updates and reporting to the Executive Director

Communicate center needs, risks, and accomplishments to organizational leadership

Ensure all documentation, records, and reports are accurate and up to date

Serve as the primary operational point of contact for the center
