Program Manager

Denali Family Medicine Residency Program

Join Us in Building Something Meaningful

Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) is excited to welcome a Program Manager to help develop and operate the Denali Family Medicine Residency Program in rural Alaska. This is a unique opportunity to support a mission-driven residency program from the ground up and help strengthen the future of family medicine in rural communities.

Working closely with the Program Director, the Program Manager will turn program priorities into reliable systems, clear documentation, and smooth day-to-day coordination across accreditation, recruitment, resident operations, faculty support, and training partnerships. SCHC has submitted its application for ACGME Sponsoring Institution accreditation. This role will help carry the residency from development and program accreditation through launch and ongoing operations.

Primarily on site at SCHC, with travel to affiliated training locations in the Mat-Su Borough as program needs require

Up to $125,600 annually, based on qualifications and experience

The Role

In this role, you will work closely with the Program Director and a committed team to continue developing the program. You will bring structure, follow-through, and thoughtful coordination to a growing residency program. Responsibilities include:

Coordinate program plans, timelines, meetings, deliverables, and communication across SCHC, faculty, residents, community physicians, hospitals, and affiliated training sites.
Organize accreditation application materials, supporting documentation, deadlines, and preparations for reviews or site visits; maintain systems that support ongoing accreditation and reporting.
Manage assigned administrative workflows for resident recruitment and the Match, onboarding, scheduling, evaluations, records, and required program data.
Coordinate rotations and resident-experience logistics, including communication with faculty and community preceptors and the timely distribution and collection of evaluations.
Maintain accurate records of resident work hours, clinical experiences, scholarly activity, required certifications, and other program requirements.
Support licensing, credentialing, and privileging processes, and maintain faculty, training-site, and Program Letter of Agreement documentation.
Anticipate operational barriers, recommend practical solutions, and take ownership of additional program functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in healthcare systems management.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex programs, documentation, deadlines, and stakeholders in healthcare, education, or another regulated environment.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; sound judgment; consistent follow-through; and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
Proficiency with standard office, document-management, and project-tracking systems, along with the discretion required to handle confidential information.

Preferred Experience

Graduate medical education or residency program administration, including familiarity with ACGME accreditation processes.
Experience with resident recruitment and Match processes, residency management or evaluation systems, scheduling, credentialing, or related workflows.
Experience supporting a new or developing healthcare education program, particularly in a rural, frontier, FQHC, teaching health center, or underserved setting.
