JOB TITLE: Senior Estimator
DEPARTMENT: Professional Services
LOCATION: Report to San Angelo, Texas (Home office). Management of projects at various site locations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Experience estimating construction projects (all disciplines), scheduling, cost control, and general project management activities for construction operations. Activities include interfacing with clients/customers, Dorado home-office engineering/project management staff, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies as necessary to coordinate all construction objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support with the execution of all aspects of the project including providing vision and strategic leadership, monitoring project schedules and budgets, evaluating project productivity and quality while directing the operations of the construction project to ensure alignment with estimated schedule of values.
- Direct and manage all estimating activities
- Develop and implement administrative, technical and corporate procedures and policies to ensure the successful operation of the project on a profitable basis
- Work with Project Manager to direct and manage the activities of site personnel (as related to estimated schedule of values).
- Assume responsibility for the successful execution of each assigned project
- Build relationships and coordinate with the client/customer and project personnel
- Ensure client/owner input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements
- Organize and supervise the implementation of project management systems and corporate quality systems
- Maintain a documentation file system which accurately describes all commercial, technical and financial correspondence
- Prepare and evaluate monthly progress reports; describing the schedule, manpower expenditures and work scope for accuracy, completeness and timeliness
- Ensure invoices are sent to appropriate parties for timely and accurate approvals
- Act as a liaison between the client/owner and project engineering/project management team
- Identify and document construction changes and ensure affected parties are made aware of changes in a timely fashion (especially where additional work is required)
- Develop new business opportunities as a by-product of relationship with client/owner
- Participate in business development meetings
- Plan and identify upcoming tasks, potential problem areas, staffing priorities and identify solutions where necessary
- Responsible to maintain proper staff levels to meet project requirements
- Actively recruit and train personnel for project specific tasks as necessary
- Develop, coach and track employee skill levels and provide input to management when required

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent professional experience and knowledge
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in oil & gas construction, facilities construction or related construction industry
- Commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards and initiatives
- Comply and understand Dorado’s culture and philosophies including all business objectives and goals
- Ability to direct and control complete operation of a project, guided by precedent and within the limits of established policies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of OSHA standards such as (but not limited to): general safety, excavations, trenching/shoring, fall protection and toxic / hazardous substances
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position may require working in extreme temperatures (hot/cold) and working in the field may require extended periods of standing. Position will require daily use of personal protective equipment needed to comply with safety requirements and job site location requirements. Position will require travel to/from job-site and applicant will require a clean driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
