Full Job Description

Blanket Fort Hope is a Christ-centered organization that provides safety, healing, and restoration for girls who have experienced trauma, including survivors of child trafficking. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Youth Care Specialists to join our group home team in Chelsea, AL.

Youth Care Specialists provide daily supervision, emotional support, and trauma-informed, faith-based care to our residents. This role is essential in helping girls feel safe, supported, and loved as they begin their healing journey.

Key Responsibilities:

This role offers approximately 32 hours per week and involves rotating shift options of 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
Provide trauma-Informed Care in a structured, nurturing environment
Support daily routines: hygiene, meals, chores, schoolwork, and medication
Model Christ-like behavior and integrate Christian principles into daily interactions
Use positive, respectful behavior management strategies
Offer emotional support and help youth build healthy coping skills
Communicate with families and guardians, when appropriate
Collaborate with a team of professionals to support each girl's individual plan
Respond to emotional or medical emergencies according to established protocols

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Prior experience with children or youth (especially in residential, faith-based, or trauma-informed settings)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to a faith-based mission and serving vulnerable children
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays

Preferred (Not Required):

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field
Coursework or certification in child development, healthcare, or behavioral support

Paid CPR and First Aid training during onboarding
Ongoing training in trauma-informed care and Christian youth support

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
