Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial data entry, and assist with financial reporting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate accounting practices, primarily utilizing QuickBooks, Box, Windows Operating Systems, and the Microsoft Office suite. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of financial concepts, GAAP standards, and will contribute to the efficient operation of our finance department.

Responsibilities

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions using QuickBooks Desktop.
Reconcile accounts including balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts
Prepare journal entries and assist with account analysis to ensure proper classification of financial data
Support month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements
Conduct account reconciliations and verify the accuracy of financial statements
Assist with budgeting, tax preparation, and non-profit accounting activities as needed
Collaborate with internal teams on financial reporting and audit preparations
Maintain compliance with governmental accounting standards and internal control policies

Skills

Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance protocols
Ability to perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Familiarity with tax regulations related to corporate or governmental accounting, particularly sales tax reporting and payments.
Excellent data entry skills (10 key typing) with high accuracy
Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks
Good mathematical skills and understanding of financial services concepts
Effective communication skills for collaboration within the finance team
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Pay: $35,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
