Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineering Contracts Manager to lead the management of contractual agreements related to engineering projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, safeguarding intellectual property rights, and fostering strong relationships with vendors and contractors. Your expertise will drive strategic procurement initiatives, streamline document management processes, and support business development efforts to advance our engineering objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence project success through meticulous contract oversight and innovative negotiation strategies.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, and negotiate complex engineering contracts, including procurement agreements, vendor partnerships, and grant-related projects.
Manage vendor relationships by overseeing performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and resolving disputes efficiently.
Maintain comprehensive document management systems to track contract versions, amendments, and related correspondence using tools such as Salesforce, DocuSign, ERP systems like PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Ensure all contracts adhere to applicable procurement regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), UCC law, and other federal or public sector purchasing standards.
Conduct thorough contract reviews for legal compliance, intellectual property considerations, and risk mitigation; collaborate with legal teams on drafting and revising contractual language.
Lead change management initiatives related to contract modifications or project scope adjustments while maintaining accurate records.
Support business development by preparing proposals, pricing strategies, and technical documentation that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation within engineering or public sector environments.
Strong understanding of procurement regulatory frameworks including FAR, UCC law, and federal acquisition processes.
Demonstrated expertise in document review, contract management software (such as Salesforce or ERP systems), and records management best practices.
Excellent negotiation skills coupled with strategic planning capabilities to optimize vendor relationships and project outcomes.
Knowledge of intellectual property law, legal drafting techniques, and compliance management practices essential for safeguarding organizational interests.
Experience managing grant projects or public sector purchasing processes is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through technical writing experience or proposal writing skills; familiarity with DocuSign for electronic signatures is a plus.
Strong research skills combined with business development experience that supports organizational growth initiatives.
