Full Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor provides leadership for one or more lines of manufacturing.

Responsibilities include: Coordination of daily activities for assigned production lines; assist manufacturing management as required; provide direction for meeting and exceeding production goals; manage assigned workforce and daily activities for various shifts; coordinate efforts with Production Team; ensure line set-up is complete and in compliance with SOPs; coordinate the efforts of complementary departments in support of production; ensure batch documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner; review all production documentation for accuracy; complete time cards and lot sheets and submit for payroll processing; ensure reports are thorough, accurate and completed timely; perform periodic inspections and walk-throughs to ensure compliance with SOPs and GMPs; ensure personnel are properly trained and cross-trained to ensure flexibility and competent performance in compliance with company policies, SOPs and cGMPs; provide coaching and guidance for team members; participate in the interview and selection process; conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary action as needed; monitor performance of safety practices; maintain positive employee relationships; attend meetings as directed by manufacturing management.

Schedule:

Typical 1st shift production schedule is 4, 10-hour days. Must be available for various days of the week and a 5-day schedule as indicated. Standard work hours for 1st shift are 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Alternative work hours/work schedule may be required at the discretion of management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, cGMPs and SOPs, plus mechanical aptitude with thorough knowledge of machinery and processes.
Knowledge of contemporary pharmaceutical and manufacturing practices and procedures including serialization.
Knowledge and skill in using computer software, to include spreadsheet, word processing, and database.
Skill in efficient manufacturing techniques, process improvement, production scheduling, materials and supply chain management.
Skill in problem solving and an analytical thought process.
Skill in business writing including investigative reports and summaries.
Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels and from other departments.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
Ability to direct and instruct others.
Ability to communicate with co-workers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
