Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Per Diem Interventional Scheduler to support our Interventional Radiology and Vascular services. This temporary position is expected to last approximately 3 months and will work 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

This role is critical in ensuring procedures are scheduled accurately, timely, and in compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements.

You will serve as the primary liaison between referring providers, patients, radiologists, and hospital scheduling teams, coordinating all aspects of complex interventional procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling & Coordination

Serve as the primary scheduling liaison for interventional radiology and vascular procedures
Review incoming referrals, orders, and documentation for completeness prior to scheduling
Coordinate procedure scheduling based on provider, radiologist, and advanced practice provider availability
Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to referring offices and patients
Maintain accurate scheduling documentation across systems

Procedure & Documentation Management

Obtain prior imaging and required documentation for radiologist/PA review
Prepare case summaries for procedures requiring approval or alternate location scheduling
Ensure all authorizations are obtained and properly documented
Monitor incoming calls and voicemails to ensure timely follow-up

Hospital Coordination (St. Joseph’s Hospital)

Submit cases for interventional review and approval
Coordinate with central scheduling and verify appointments in EPIC
Act as liaison between hospital teams and referring providers

Specialty Scheduling Includes

Biopsies
Interventional Radiology (IR) consultations
IR fluoroscopy procedures
Varicose vein consultations and procedures
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) consultations and follow-ups

Customer Service & Team Support

Provide professional, courteous communication with patients and healthcare teams
Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, nursing staff, and administrative teams

QualificationsEducation

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

Medical scheduling or healthcare administrative experience preferred
Radiology or interventional scheduling experience strongly preferred

Skills & Knowledge

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and interventional procedures
Proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling software (EPIC experience a plus)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Work Environment

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Frequent use of computer, phone, and office equipment
High-volume, fast-paced healthcare setting
