Food Safety, Quality, & Regulatory Supervisor

Position Summary
The FSQR Supervisor is responsible for leading all FSQR programs for the facility. This role oversees all laboratory, Food Safety, Quality Systems, and Regulatory Compliance functions. The supervisor develops and maintains robust FSQR programs including BRCGS/QMS/SQF, HACCP/PCQI, environmental monitoring, and audit readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on operational reliability, food safety, documentation accuracy, employee training, and continuous improvement in a dairy processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory (FSQR) Leadership
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee food safety, quality, and regulatory programs.
- Direct laboratory activities and review CCP, lab, and processing records.
- Write, review, and implement QA and FSQR procedures.
- Maintain compliance with PMO/FDA, BRCGS, FSMA/HACCP, SQF, Kosher, Halal, and Organic programs.
- Lead and participate in internal and third‑party audits, State inspections, and customer audits.
- Support holds, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Lead or support RCA, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage pest control and sanitation program oversight.
- Maintain process and product change communication across teams.
Environmental Monitoring & Laboratory Oversight
- Partner with Operations on the PEM program and swabbing activities.
- Investigate pathogen or EMP findings and implement mitigation actions.
- Recommend upgrades to lab methods, equipment, or procedures.
- Calibrate and verify testing instrumentation.
- Analyze and trend quality data using SPC or similar tools.
Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead and develop Plant team members.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance guidance.
- Ensure employees understand process, product, and specification changes.
- Support staffing schedules across shifts and weekend coverage as needed.
- Complete supervisory duties including coaching and timekeeping review.
- Promote a positive, safe, and accountable team culture.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Track and improve KPIs including shrink and product loss, downtime and throughput, intake accuracy, audit performance, and rework/deviations.
- Identify opportunities to improve ergonomics, safety, and efficiency.
- Support commissioning of capital and process improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years experience in dairy, beverage, or liquid food processing.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of tanker receiving and silo management; HTST/pasteurization, separators, dairy packaging, and CIP systems.
- Prior experience in quality, laboratory, or sanitation programs.
- Knowledge of PMO, FDA, BRCGS, FSMA, HACCP, and SQF requirements.
- Ability to interpret processing and quality data.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Biology, or related field (or 4+ years equivalent experience).
- Dairy manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- PCQI, HACCP, BRCGS or SQF Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with SPC, RCA, CAPA, or other CI methodologies.
- Familiarity with production documentation systems.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
