MRI Technologist - Outpatient

Location: Syracuse, NY
Compensation: $38.60 to $53.00 per hour ($80,288 to $110,240 annually)

A healthcare organization in Syracuse is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist to join its outpatient Imaging department. This role is well suited to an imaging professional who combines strong technical skill with attentive patient care, performing MRI procedures while supporting safe, efficient patient flow in a fast-paced outpatient setting. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation
$38.60 to $53.00 per hour ($80,288 to $110,240 annually), based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do
The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols, preparing and positioning patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout each exam. The role includes reviewing imaging requests for accuracy, producing diagnostic-quality images efficiently, and monitoring patients during procedures. The technologist follows all MRI safety protocols, including thorough patient screening and equipment safety procedures, and maintains compliance with departmental policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities include working within PACS, RIS, and EMR systems, checking MRI equipment for proper performance, performing routine quality assurance tasks, and collaborating with radiologists, providers, nurses, and fellow imaging staff to support smooth department operations.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related imaging program
Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
MRI certification, or eligibility to obtain based on role requirements
Active state licensure as required
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

1 to 2 or more years of MRI experience
Experience in an outpatient imaging setting
Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and patient screening protocols
Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills

Compensation and Benefits

$38.60 to $53.00 per hour ($80,288 to $110,240 annually), based on experience
