Full Job Description

The mission of Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) is to respectfully assist people to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency through direct services, education, and community partnerships.

CAP is seeking a Domestic Violence On-Call Advocate in our Family and Victim Services program. The Domestic Violence On-Call Advocate provides support and crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence and their children through the agency’s 24-hour hotline. This position also serves as a liaison between victims and key partners, including law enforcement, the courts, social service agencies, and other community service providers.

Candidates must reside in Cayuga County, NY or nearby counties

The Domestic Violence On-Call Advocate must have the following minimum qualifications:

Associate's degree in human services or related field preferred.
One year of experience working with victims of domestic violence or oncall experience in a related field.

This is an on-call, non-exempt position. Per diem rates are as follows:

OnCall Monday Thursday, from 5:00 pm 9:00 am = Flat rate of $55.00 each day
OnCall Friday from 5:00 pm Monday 9:00 am = Flat rate of $75.00 each day
OnCall Holidays = Flat rate of $85.00
Additional $17.00/hr to provide direct service, in person, if needed.
