Full Job Description

Dates: Year-Round

Hours: Varies, as needed

Pay: $20/hour

Position

Early Music Seattle seeks hourly program assistants during each season. The people in this role will function as integral members of the EMS (Early Music Seattle) team to support various events and activities throughout the next concert season. Programs Assistants have the opportunity to gain experience in arts administration, work with a supportive and innovative team, and have work schedule flexibility.

Principle Duties: Concert Production

Rehearsal and Outreach activities

Assist with set up of rehearsal space

Facilitate and oversee instrument transportation of piano and harpsichord movers

Oversee rehearsal spaces and assist musicians to ensure a smooth and positive experience

Concert Days

Assist at Box Office and Will Call as needed

Assist in set-up of concert space, including stage, setting up seating, external signage, and other details

Work with the Associate Director & Festival Coordinator on all aspects of concert production, includingassigning volunteers to key roles and other duties as assigned

Help distribute promotional materials and answer questions from audience members

Artist Liaison

Be the point of contact for hotels, transportation from airport and other logistic details

Assist with food pick up, set up, and clean up for after musician meals as needed

Assist artists with other needs, including scanning/copying music

Other Duties

Assist with set up and preparation for special events, including donor dinners and celebrations, sightreading parties and other activities.

Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience and Skills

Knowledge and love of music

Strong organizational skills

Basic Microsoft and Excel skills

Good communication skills

Enjoys collaboration on teams and working with others

Other Requirements

Travel

Program Assistants are responsible for transportation to and from all concert and rehearsal locations.

Physical

This position requires some moderate physical labor. Assistants must be able lift 35lbs to help with thetransportation of box office and concert materials

Some extended periods of walking and standing for events may be required
