Full Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Device Brand Studio, an internal agency within the Devices group at Amazon, is seeking a talented, creative Creative Director to help bring new Amazon offerings to market, products, services, and features within our devices portfolio. The Creative Director will own brand identity and creative execution for a product line or campaign within Amazon Devices, including new-to-world and new-to-Amazon launches.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of branding, storytelling, and visual identity, and an ability to work independently and alongside other design team members, creatives, and business partners. You will collaborate with and direct copywriters, visual, retail, and brand designers in developing brand stories, quickly bringing concepts to life, then iterating and refining as you factor in customer and business requirements. You will pitch brand stories to stakeholders, identify problems early, and keep the creative team moving toward a clear outcome. You should have working knowledge of brand guidelines, concept decks, and creative briefs at a top consumer-facing brand like Amazon, and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders from entry-level through senior leadership.

Because the work is varied, fast-paced, and high pressure, you should have strong communication and collaboration skills. You will partner with peers across customer research, brand strategy, content strategy, copy, art direction, retail, go-to-market, and site merchandising to hit key deliverables. You will develop concepts and campaign work that tells a cohesive story across product detail pages, merchandising assets, retail fixtures, and packaging.

This role is for a strong creative lead with hands-on experience in the design space, who can direct internal and external creative resources and present work clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Key job responsibilities

Create brand-consistent creative that supports and reinforces our product vision and business objectives
Partner with customer and market research teams to translate insights and data into creative that resonates with customers and delivers measurable results
Build trust and credibility with stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
Advocate for customers and incorporate user research into the creative process
Apply strong command of creative methods, tools, and presentation skills
Direct a small team of copywriters, visual, retail, and brand designers on day-to-day execution
Give feedback and coaching to team members to support their craft growth
Coordinate with other internal and external creative teams to keep work aligned and on brand

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Experience art directing motion designers, illustrators, writers and content creators
Experience partnering with technical partners for design implementation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dynamic advertising solutions
Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
