Kitchen Manager / Head Chef

Linney Breaux’s Cajun Eatery

Location: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $48,000–$68,000 annually (based on experience) + performance bonuses

Linney Breaux’s Cajun Eatery is looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead our back-of-house team and keep the kitchen running strong.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in great food, knows how to lead a crew, and can stay cool when the kitchen gets hotter than a Louisiana summer. This is not a clipboard-only position. You’ll work alongside the team, set the standard, solve problems, and help make sure every plate leaving the kitchen is one we’re proud to serve.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Hire, train, schedule, coach, and lead the kitchen team while building a positive, team-first culture
Make sure every plate goes out correctly, consistently, and well-presented
Maintain recipe standards, portion control, and food quality during every shift
Run a clean, organized, and safe kitchen using proper food-handling, sanitation, and FIFO practices
Manage food costs, labor costs, inventory, ordering, waste, and kitchen productivity
Oversee daily prep, staffing, ticket flow, equipment, and overall kitchen operations
Hold the team accountable while also helping employees learn, improve, and succeed
Assist with developing new menu items, seasonal dishes, and weekly specials
Work closely with the front-of-house team to handle guest concerns, food allergies, and dietary requests
Maintain required records, prepare for health inspections, and make sure new-hire training is completed

Experience We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role is preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of kitchen leadership or professional cooking experience
Experience running a busy line and leading a kitchen team
Cajun, Creole, Seafood, Steakhouse experience is a BIG HUGE PLUS
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant kitchen

Skills and Qualifications

Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper kitchen procedures
Experience with food costing, budgeting, ordering, inventory, and waste control
Organized, dependable, and able to stay calm under pressure
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
High standards for food quality, cleanliness, consistency, and presentation
A team-first attitude and willingness to lead from the front
Experience with, or a willingness to learn, 7shifts and Square
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
