Overview:
JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, coordinates, and facilitates therapeutic recreational and rehabilitative activities that promote client engagement, recovery, and overall well-being within Residential Services. Develops and maintains activity schedules, leads structured group and individual activities, and completes timely documentation of client participation and progress. Maintains activity areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment while communicating relevant client observations to the treatment team. Provides direct client care and support in a Mental Health Assistant capacity as needed to maintain program operations and continuity of care.
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, develops, and coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly recreational, educational, leisure, and special event activities that promote client engagement, socialization, wellness, and quality of life. Updates activity schedules posted on each Residential unit as changes occur.

Conducts and facilitates individual and group activities in accordance with programmatic guidelines, including clubs, games, arts and crafts, fitness and sports, life enrichment activities, holiday events, community outings, and other recreational programming designed to encourage client participation and positive peer interaction.

Completes required documentation of group participation, attendance, and client response before the end of each shift. Completes individual progress notes for contact with clients outside of group as appropriate or directed by the clinical team.

Maintains inventories of activity equipment, games, supplies, and program materials. Orders supplies as needed with approval from the Program Manager and assists with identifying new programming resources.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma with two (2) years of related experience in a patient care setting OR

A bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology, social work, counseling or related human services field preferred; relevant experience may substitute BA degree.
Licensure or Certification:

Maintain current CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license.

Maintain authorization as an approved Center vehicle driver.
