Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a full-service restaurant environment
Demonstrated experience leading and developing front-of-house teams
Experience managing labor, scheduling, staffing, and daily restaurant operations
Strong guest service and conflict resolution skills
Experience hiring, training, coaching, and holding employees accountable
Ability to lead high-volume service periods while maintaining professionalism and composure
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands require

Preferred Qualifications:

Fine dining or upscale casual dining experience
Multi-department leadership experience including dining room and bar operations
Experience managing managers, supervisors, or lead positions
Familiarity with reservation systems, POS systems, and labor management tools

Position Summary

The Director of Hospitality is responsible for leading all front-of-house operations at The Monroe, including the dining room, bar program, host team, guest experience, service standards, training, staffing, and hospitality execution.

This position serves as the operational leader of the front-of-house team and is responsible for creating a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and hospitality excellence throughout all guest-facing areas of the restaurant.

The Director of Hospitality works closely with ownership, culinary leadership, and management teams to ensure service execution aligns with The Monroe's standards and vision.

This is a results-driven leadership position focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences while achieving measurable improvements in service standards, team performance, guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality

Lead and oversee all aspects of the guest experience
Maintain and continuously improve hospitality standards
Ensure guest concerns are resolved professionally and promptly
Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities for improvement
Develop systems that create consistency in service and guest satisfaction
Maintain a visible presence on the floor during service periods

Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, hire, train, develop, and mentor all front-of-house employees, including dining room, host, support staff, and management personnel
Conduct ongoing coaching and performance development
Foster a culture built on professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and hospitality

Front-of-House Operations

Ensure proper staffing levels based on business demands
Through the Director of Guest Services, oversee reservations, seating strategies, and guest flow
Coordinate with kitchen and bar leadership to maintain efficient service.

Bar Operations & Beverage Program

Oversee day-to-day bar operations and service standards
Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management of bar staff
Work alongside ownership on beverage programming, menu development, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives

Quality Control

Monitor service execution, cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards
Conduct regular dining room inspections and service evaluations
Identify operational issues before they impact guests

Financial Performance & Results

Assist ownership in achieving revenue, labor, and profitability goals
Monitor labor scheduling and staffing efficiency
Support initiatives that increase guest counts, check averages, and repeat business

Training & Service Standards

Maintain and continuously improve training programs
Ensure all employees understand service expectations, product knowledge, and hospitality standards
Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Interdepartmental Leadership

Work collaboratively with culinary leadership, bar leadership, events, and ownership
Ensure departments remain aligned in delivering a consistent guest experience
Assist with execution of special events, large reservations, and community activations
