Acewall Scholars is seeking dedicated and reliable tutors to provide academic support to students across K–12 grade levels. Tutors will support students based on program and student needs and may provide services in a school-day or virtual after-school setting. This position requires strong instructional skills in English/Phonics and Mathematics, along with the ability to adapt instruction to different student learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalized instruction to students during school hours or after school virtual sessions across diverse subjects including English language arts, mathematics, science, and test preparation.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students.
- Provide instruction and academic assistance in English/Phonics and Mathematics.
- Support students across K–12 grade levels, based on program and student needs.
- Conduct school-day tutoring sessions during assigned instructional periods.
- Provide virtual tutoring during assigned after-school hours.
- Reinforce classroom learning through individualized and small-group instructional strategies.
- Adapt instruction to students' academic levels, learning needs, and goals.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions and student performance.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, school administrators, students, and families as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school and Acewall Scholars policies and procedures.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions as assigned.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and education needs.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards to ensure effective learning experiences.
- Utilize learning technology tools and online platforms to facilitate interactive lessons and monitor student progress.
- Manage classroom behavior, foster a positive learning environment, and support students’ social-emotional development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, with a strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and online instruction techniques.
- Expertise in subjects such as English language arts, mathematics, science, or test preparation (e.g., SAT or GRE).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience tutoring or teaching school-age students.
- Strong knowledge and instructional ability in English/Phonics.
- Ability to provide Mathematics instruction.
- Ability to support students across K–12 grade levels.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to different student learning needs.
- Reliable, professional, and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively within a school environment and follow school expectations.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills paired with classroom management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Title I schools or with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with evidence-based reading intervention strategies.
- Experience providing small-group or individualized academic interventions.
- Experience with virtual tutoring or online instructional platforms.
Schedule & Hours:
School-Day / In-Person Tutor
- Monday - Friday
- 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- School-based assignments in Leon County, FL
Virtual After-School Tutor
- Monday - Friday
- Available between 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Virtual tutoring assignments based on student and program needs
Actual assignments and schedules may vary based on program and student needs.
Pay Rate:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour

The position involve both in-person school-day tutoring, virtual after-school tutoring, depending on program needs and assignment.
