Full Job Description

Department

College of Criminology & Criminal Justice

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of specialized and complex professional work that facilitates the administrative operations of a function, program, and/or department
Utilizes extensive knowledge of the department to make recommendations to senior management and/or executive leadership on program planning and development
Interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures
Oversight of daily office management and supervises office staff
May serve as designated Budget Manager/Approver
Participates in long-range planning/forecasting for the College/Department
Coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters
Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems that may have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
