Radey Law Firm seeks a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support attorneys in administrative law, healthcare, trial-level litigation, and appeals. The position combines substantive paralegal work with high-level administrative support and requires familiarity with Florida state and federal courts, state agencies, and administrative tribunals, including the Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH).
Primary Duties
Calendar litigation, administrative, and appellate deadlines; assist with scheduling and case management.
Prepare, proofread, format, and electronically file pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and routine filings in state agency proceeding, state courts, federal courts, and state agency proceedings.
Assist with discovery, document organization, Bates numbering, document indexes, privilege logs, exhibits, hearing notebooks, depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
Perform legal, regulatory, legislative history, and agency research using Westlaw, Online Sunshine, the Florida Administrative Code and Register, agency websites, and MyFloridaMarketplace.
Retrieve and organize information from AHCA, the Department of Health, and other state agency websites concerning licensure, regulation, certificate of need, data, statistics, procurements, and rulemaking.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, agencies, opposing counsel, vendors, and other contacts; maintain organized electronic and paper files.
Support attorney productivity and client billing guideline compliance using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and other applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Law firm or legal-environment experience preferred; litigation, administrative law, appellate, or healthcare-related experience is a plus.
Familiarity with Florida and federal court procedures, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, e-filing, state agency practice, administrative tribunals, and DOAH preferred.
Paralegal studies degree or certificate preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Strong proofreading, formatting, organizational, communication, and document-management skills; excellent attention to detail and judgment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented law firm environment, with regular and reliable in-office attendance required.
Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule
Compensation: Area-leading compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience. Expected salary range is low to mid $60,000s, depending on qualifications and experience. Position is eligible for a production-based bonus.
