Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-driven General Manager to lead the TownePlace Suites Tampa Westshore/Airport.

Located in one of Tampa’s strongest business and travel corridors near Tampa International Airport and the Westshore Business District, this extended-stay Marriott property offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who understands how to drive performance through strong operations, sales execution, revenue management, and team development.

The ideal candidate will be highly engaged in the business and comfortable taking ownership of the hotel's overall performance—from guest satisfaction and associate engagement to STR results, profitability, sales, and brand compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hotel Leadership & Operations

Provide overall leadership and direction for all hotel operations.
Build a positive, accountable, and performance-driven hotel culture.
Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a strong management and hourly team.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and guest service.
Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and company operating procedures.
Maintain a visible and hands-on presence throughout the hotel.

Sales & Revenue Performance

Take an active role in driving top-line revenue and market share.
Partner closely with Sales and Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
Understand and actively manage the hotel's STR performance, including MPI, ARI, and RGI.
Develop strategies to capture extended-stay, corporate, project, crew, airport, and local negotiated business.
Build relationships within the Tampa Airport and Westshore business community.
Monitor competitive hotels, market trends, pricing, and demand generators.
Participate directly in sales calls, account development, and community networking.

Financial Management

Manage the hotel to established revenue, profitability, and GOP objectives.
Develop and execute annual budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
Maintain disciplined control of labor and operating expenses without compromising guest experience.
Review financial statements and operating results and take corrective action when necessary.
Protect hotel assets and ensure appropriate internal controls.

Guest Experience & Marriott Standards

Drive guest satisfaction and Marriott Bonvoy recognition.
Respond quickly and professionally to guest concerns.
Maintain strong Marriott brand compliance and inspection readiness.
Ensure the property consistently delivers the TownePlace Suites extended-stay experience.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Previous hotel General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or senior hotel leadership experience.
Marriott experience strongly preferred.
Extended-stay hotel experience preferred.
Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales, revenue management, and financial performance.
Working knowledge of Marriott systems and standards is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of STR reports and competitive market performance.
Proven ability to develop teams and hold departments accountable for results.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, entrepreneurial leadership style with a strong sense of ownership.
Knowledge of the Tampa/Westshore market is a plus.
